I am really excited to bring this sale to your attention because this is the best time to get new furniture if you have been itching for some! We always end up buying furniture in the spring or summer because they always have huge sales all over during memorial day weekend and the 4th of July! The current sale at Ashley’s is up to 50% off and an extra 10% off online!
So here is a little update for you. Dave and I moved out of our apartment back in April. We have been staying with family since while searching for a new place. We didn’t want to be rushed to find something new and getting a few months to save money is a huge plus! We are so grateful that we have a comfortable place to go when we need to!
The way I look at it, is this is our little staycation with family, (might I add their yard is absolutely beautiful), I mean I could honestly stay here a lot longer. 🙂
However, a couple of weeks ago I was looking around on Trulia and this home caught my attention. We went to go look at it and low and behold it just felt right. Within hours we signed our new lease and voila! We have a new home!
We are so excited for this new chapter because this is the largest home I have lived in besides my familys old home when I was a teenager. To have something that FINALLY has plenty of room for us and our little family. The feelings are out of this world right now. I guess you could say I’m on a high. I can’t wait to decorate and get in there so I can really make it my own.
So obviously we have been furniture shopping. This new home is 2,500+ Square feet so we have some big shoes to fill. We will need to fill up that space as best as we can.

Things that we are in need of in this new home will be:
- A sofa and a love seat (to be honest I’m so over sectionals).
- A coffee table (can’t decide between glass or wood). We need one for the upstairs living room and I’d love to find a cute wood one for the downstairs living room. Dave has already declared it as his man cave. Lol
- A dining room table (preferably something that seats 6 but could extend to seat 8). We have a large family between his side and my side. It is my dream to host dinners for everyone!
- A couple of sofa tables one for the level between stairs and the hallways, hell maybe we need more. This home has a lot of levels. Insert *nervous laugh*
- A couple more high top chairs for our breakfast table…yea we have a breakfast table area, INSANE. We have two wonky chairs that will be on their way to the trash soon. They will do for now. Eventually, we will need to replace all 4 chairs.
- A new mattress (ours will become the guest bedroom mattress).
- A platform bed (I’m obsessed with how they look, especially the mango wood ones. Can you say boho vibes?) Although, it’s harder to find one that is a king sized for our new mattress.
There are more things I’m sure I will come up with. For now these items are what weighs heavy on my mind. Dave and I are going to Ashleys Furniture Store today to see what they have in their show room. I’m curious to see if anything will speak to me. I LOVE furniture shopping. I might actually enjoy buying furniture and decor slightly more than buying clothes! WHAT!?
